Overview: National Pool Fence is a standard in pool safety. Made of durable, UV and tear resistant mesh, our fence is made to stand up to the abuses of weather and time. Both the 4’ and 5’ tall fence comes in a full length of mesh, bordered on all four sides by a lining to prevent fraying. The length of mesh is then attached to aluminum poles spaced every 3 feet for 4' tall fence and every 2.5 feet for 5' tall fence. Aluminum is the premium material choice for outdoor products because it won’t rust or corrode. The mesh is attached to the poles by a backing strip of aluminum held on by stainless steel screws. The backing is removable for easy modification of fence sizes. You can split sections to use in other areas, go up steps, create openings or end a fence section early. Each section comes with sleeves and caps and 1 hook and eye.
White: White fence is only white on the poles and lining, the mesh is black - this is for transparency - white mesh reflects too much light and makes the fence non-transparent on a sunny day.
Entering/ Exiting: We sell self-closing self- latching pool fence gates or you can use where two section meet to go in and out. The self-closing self-latching gates are designed with the highest levels of safety available. Each comes standard with a Magna-Latch and Tru-Close hinges. Both the latching device and hinges are made by D&D Technologies and are regarded the standard in pool fence safety. The other method, enter and exiting between sections can be utilized with or without a gate in your system, neither is mutually exclusive. To go in and out through a section meeting simply unhook the hook and eyes and move a pole out of your way. Many people drill secondary holes for these poles to sit in while they want access to their pool.
Placement of fence: The fence should be placed at least 2 feet from the edge of the pool for safety purposes. The 2 feet allows room for anyone swimming in the pool to be able to exit the pool on all sides without them hitting the fence. It also allows room for pool cleaning from all sides without removal of the fence. Gates or entryways between sections should be planned first to be sure placement can be made with least amount of modification of fencing sections. Stairs can be protected step by step. Purchase extra poles for each step and an extra section of fence. You will cut that section of pool fence and attach it to the extra poles to create mini sections of pool fence. These mini sections of fencing will be placed at the edge of step to the base of each step. Then connected to the section lower than it and higher than it with hook and eyes.
Tools Needed: The main tool that is needed is a core drill and a 1 and 1/4 inch diamond tipped drill bit. This will be used for drilling the holes for the fence in the deck. Other tools need would be a screwdriver for removing poles, a box cutter for modifying fence. Aluminum angle for making a hole template (in the instructions it suggests building a hole template – the is the fastest way to mark out all your holes on the deck. Measuring repeatedly with a tape measure could result in mis-measurements), chalk or marker for marking holes, standard drill and 1/4 inch bit for attaching to a lanai.
Ordering: Plan out the number of sections you will need. The best way to measure is to use our roller counter. This quickly gives you an accurate measurement for ordering. IF this si a one time project and you do not wish to purchase a roller counter, use a piece of rope or string. Lay the rope or string out in the path the fence is going to be following. Mark your beginning and end point on the rope or string then pull it straight. Then use a tape measure to measure from the beginning to the end point marked on the rope or string. This measurement can then be used to order sections of pool fence. Gates will take up approximately 3 feet, the spacing between poles is 2” (3” in center, 2” actual gap).
Availability: The fence is stocked in large quantities in a warehouse in Florida. Despite this being a contractor grade fence National Pool fence does not have regional or quantity restrictions. Order in any quantity, most orders ship within 48 hours of placing the order and shipping times could take between 1 to 7 business days depending on the proximity of the location to Florida. The fence can ship Fed Ex or UPS and in some cases with large quantities LTL. Residential or commercial delivery is acceptable.
